Die erste Englisch-Schularbeit des ersten Semesters (im Jahr 2008/2009) wurde ein Gut und hier möchte ich einen Teil hineinstellen (den Teil den ich smart finde). Angabe:

American versus European food and eating habits
The following letters reflect some non-US attitudes towards the American
food culture.
From what you have heard, seen and read, would you say, that the European
and the American food cultures are really different?
Compare and give examples.

Jetzt zu den zwei Meinungen/Stellungnahmen:

MCDONALD's is making money, not food. I never eat at McDonald's, my
friends don't eitherm and there are better jobs than those in a a fast-
food place.

CALLING MCDONALD'S a "restaurant" is an insult to the legions of
people in the business who take professional pride in serving
quality food in a variety of preperations.

Sachertorte and Wiener Schnitzel

The guy from Bulgaria has never been in  McDonald’s – a very famous fast food restaurant. He says that McDonald’s is not making food – it’s making money and I think there’s a lot of truth in what he says.
The American passion for food has hit many European conutries too. It doesn’t cost much money and it’s very fast. You go to the counter, the menu is displayed, you spend the money and then you have your food ready „to go“ packed in cardboards. When you’re finished you throw everything into the dustbin. And I think that’s what the man from Bolivia wants to say.
There’s nothing in common with a real restaurant. In McDonald’s there are no waiters and waitresses who go to your table, and ask what you want.
You can’t give them a tip or you can’t talk very easily with friends because it is very loud and the atmosphere isn’t very friendly or comfortable.
I would say that the American and the European food cultures aren’t very different.
Many people go to McDonald’s but I think that we have „real“ restaurants too (and that’s important). They offer fresh salads, the „Wiener Schnitzel“ and other delicious things. The only thing you need for eating in a Vienna restaurant is time and enough money.
The only thing I miss are the coffee shops where the waiters refills your coffee cup several times for free but I don’t know if I like (the idea) to miss my Sachertorte…

Was man noch zu tun hatte, war einen Text von der ungefähr selben Länge zu dem Thema „definition of processed food – advantages and disadvantages for consumer and producer“ und noch ein paar Vokabel English-English zu erklären (und nicht einmal das ist schief gegangen!)
